Yard of the month

Carley Pardington's yard at 307 Oak Ave. in Carrboro had been singled out by the town Appearance Commission, which designated it the Yard of the Month.

The yard was chosen because of its long blooming season and good combination of colors and perrenials. The yard also displays good use of back-yard space.

The town will install a sign on the property to draw attention to the designation.
