BOOK/CADILLAC HOTEL Address: 220 Michigan Ave. Height: 27 stories Architect: Louis Kamper Year Built: 1924 Owner: Detroit Limited Partnership Notes: Kemper used the Statler Hotel in New York City as the basis for the Book/Cadillac Hotel.....It was a grand undertaking--it is very lavish on the inside and has over 1,200 rooms....There are sculptures and pillars on the exterior and copper sheaths on the roof.....It is currently vacant.
